Patients with Diabetic Nephropathy Should Pay More Attention to Their Diet
First, controlling blood sugar is very important. Third, keep proper intake of potassium and protein. Patients with Diabetic Nephropathy are easy to have oxidosis and hyperkalemia, which can induce arrhythmia and hepatic coma. Therefore, they should limit food with high potassium in their daily life. In addition, they should control protein intake. Its intake should be kept within 0.6-0.8 grams per body weight in kilogram every day and gutted fish and lean meat are their best choice. In addition, they should avoid excessive intake of vegetable protein for they are not easy to be absorbed thus increasing burden to kidney.
Fourth, they should keep enough intakes of vitamins and trace elements, especially vitamin B, C and zinc, calcium and ferrum, which have an effect in protecting kidney.
Especially, patients with Diabetic Nephropathy should avoid irritant food such as hot pepper, mustard and so on, which can make kidney disease severer.
